Circle finder not working using red dot external diode cross-hair

I’m struggling with the CircleFinder feature using an external diode cross-hair laser mounted on the left side of the lasermodule. Offset is X=-31.5mm Y=-5mm. It seems that when the X,Y result is calculated, the configured offset is not taken into account.
Scanning through the topics , i found an entry mentioning the same and a solution.
From BrunoM :

Before launching centre finder, you must disable the option to enable pointer offset (device settings / Dimensions).

I tested this and it’s indeed working.
Is this by design or can this be considered a workaround and there is a bug in the CircleFinder Tool ?

Was offcourse refering to the Circle Center Finder Tool. Meanwhile i’ve tested with Print & Cut. This was flawless with the external cross-hair diode laser. Offset is used.
