CO2 Lens for Lightburn detailed work

Im fairly close in purchasing an OMTech 60-80W machine and will get Lightburn with it. Ive been reading and watching videos and watching videos and reading.

Some of the detailed work I see being done with CO2 style lasers and Lightburn have me asking do I need to get additional lenses for finer more detailed cuts/burns/engraves or does the stock lens (2.5) work just fine.

I was looking at a 1.5 based on some other reading.

Thanks for any information.

It’s recommended to get other lenses for detail cut or specific cutting. If you do that, get Russ Sadlers lightweight head so it’s an easy changeout.

I find the compound lens the best for the smallest ‘dot’ size. I don’t think I get a fine engraving with any other lens.

It’s not $5, that’s just the nozzle.

I have the stock 1.5", 2", 4" and compound. The compound gives me the most detail.
