I bought the Comgrow 10W two months ago, and it has been working okay-ish since I got it.
Today, mid-project, it stopped firing. I used a new material, and started again and the same thing happened. I removed the lens, cleaned it, hooked it back up then started encountering errors such as
all of my designs being out of bounds
need to re-home or set limit switches
And a load of other issues. ill paste my settings below. I already checked all the wiring and its fine, and my computer can still communicate with the laser, it just now moves very very slow and will not fire at all.
I have a deadline to meet soon so I’m hoping for a quick resolution, though that might not be the case.
I appreciate the Machine settings, but I don’t believe that we’re looking in the right direction.
The one thing that can make projects suddenly out of bounds is changing from mm/minute to mm/second. This setting is in the Device Setting window. When the speed increases the deceleration and acceleration distance increases.
It’s easiest to see the in the Preview window in LightBurn. Please select Show Traversal Moves in that window and you’ll see the out of bounds problem.
Start with Absolute Coords (coordinates) as the selection for ‘Start From’ in the Laser window.
I see homing behavior as enabled so the homing switches should be present and responding.
If you’ve shut off everything, unplug the USB cable at the computer and check to see if it has a yellow insert in the socket. If it does, the yellow insert is ‘always on’ and is supplying power.
The controller could have had enough power to retain settings or workspace offsets when things started to go wrong.
In the Console window request further information by typing the following:
?
$#
pressing Enter after each one.
Please paste these into a reply here. This will show us the Status report and the workspace offsets.
