ComMarker Omni autofocus app that runs alongside LightBurn

Hey all, Omni Xe owner here. Like other users, I got annoyed with having to jump back to ComMarker Studio just to use the autofocus feature.

So I made a small Windows app that sits on top of LightBurn and handles it. You hit the button or Ctrl+Alt+F, it reads the Omni’s height sensor, moves Z to focus, and you continue in LightBurn with your job. Short demo below.

Omni Autofocus Demo

It’s free and open source if any other Omni owners want it in the meantime:

I’ve also sent the LightBurn team everything I learned about how the sensor and Z axis work, in case it helps them add this natively someday.

A couple of notes:

  • Windows only for now, tested on my Xe 6W. Happy to hear how it goes on other models.
  • Windows will say “protected your PC” because the installer isn’t code-signed yet. Click More info → Run anyway.

As a Windows user, I would be very reluctant to install this on my computer. Without it being vetted by MS, I would need to see the source code and compile it myself.

Repo link contains all source code and guidance for how to compile yourself. It’s completely open source.

Also, already submitted to Microsoft for review. Just waiting on sign off.

Sean,
YOU ARE THE MAN… I have been waiting for a tool like this. Can you add an up and down arrow for defocusing that can increment 1 mm up or down when pushed and check focus button to the main screen?
