computer not finding my laser- have Trocen 708S controller, Windows 10. I’ve already made the laser a trusted device with my Norton software, downloaded a CH340 driver in case I didn’t have one but my laptop still says that I don’t have a driver for the laser and Lightburn doesn’t find it at all when trying to do set up. I tried downloading the rar file from Trocen website but my laptop cannot open it. So I’m stumped at what I’m missing. I’m at the end of my trial period of lightburn. I have 1 day left before I have to buy my real license. i got it early to learn it before laser arrived so I would be able to hit the ground running but am now at brick wall.
Send a note to support@lightburnsoftware.com with your problem. They will usually let you ‘extend’ it to complete your evaluation. They know you will purchase it, there is nothing to compare it to…
Have you tried to connect via the Ethernet?
I don’t use a Trocen, so I’m not familiar with them.
When I look over the supported controllers from Trocen, this is from the Lightburn page
“Supported Trocen controllers include the AWC708C, AWC608, and TL-3120”
Don’t see a 708S.
Maybe @LightBurn can give you a quick answer. At this point, I don’t know what to tell you.
Good luck
The driver for Trocen controllers is included with their stock software, LaserCAD, so you’ll need to install that to get the driver if you haven’t before. You don’t even have to run it - just install it so you get the driver.
And Jack is correct - if you never had a chance to play with the trial, send an email to support with your trial ID and we’ll happily extend it for you.
Does this constitute a problem for Linux?
No, because it just uses LibUSB on Linux and Mac - no driver assignment is needed.
