Connecting LightBurn to Longer with WiFi

I did a search but came up with nothing. I have been trying to connect a Longer Ray5 40W via WiFi to LightBurn. It works via the USB cord and in the console all of the parameters show up for the laser when connected. If I switch to the WiFi profile the console shows waiting for a connection. I have set the port to 8080. Anything else I can do to get this going via WiFi? Multiple restarts of both the computer and machine, uninstall and reinstall software. Connect and reconnect machine.

I am out of options at this point.

TIA

I’ve seen this before and I don’t run grbl or your control board.

@misken knows how these work and maybe he’ll stop by and advise you.

This is specific to the iCube machine, but it may have some hints on what you need to do…

Thanks. I had tried all of that. Still no dice. I can see the laser on my network and its IP address. When connected via USB it shows all the stats. When trying to connect via WiFi, still nothing.

Then you probably just have a Lightburn settings problem. Easy fix, but I do not do Wifi. Too flakey. Run a WiFi Analyzer app and you will see why. Streaming GCode and transfering network packets do not appear to behave the same. It may be due to the lack of full synchronous communications, but I am guessing.

There are not a lot of setting to mess with. Basically the IP address and Port.

I think it also has to be on the same 2.4gig network router or subnet. I know my printer does.

Yes, all there.
