Connection laser to lightburn

Having problems connecting lightburn to CrealityFalcon A1.
Any suggestions please

You will get those after we get more information.

  1. How long is your USB cable run?
  2. Does the USB have ferrite(s) on it?
  3. Is there an error message in the Console window?
  4. What does the Console window show when you try to connect?
  5. Is the connection intermittent, or drop out when running?

Thanks for getting back to me, much appreciated. Short USB cable, no idea what “ferrites” are, connection non existant.
Perhaps I’ve chosen the wrong word to describe my problem, more accurate words would be “failure to recognise laser” even when using wizard. Is it relevant that I’m on a trial version?

Trial version is not relevant.

Have you installed the CH340 USB to serial port Windows driver?
It’s available here: Nanjing Qinheng Microelectronics Co., Ltd.

Thanks for getting back to me. Sad to say I have no idea what you’re talking about. Any chance you could send further instructions for this idiot?

Hi Alan, I found some instructions here: lightBurn Connection Guide | Creality Wiki, from Creality for their A1 Pro. I’d say your machine would be pretty similar? so try the same instructions but use the ‘Falcon A1.lbdev’ device profile:

Falcon A1.lbdev (19.9 KB)

Download this file and drag and drop it into LightBurn to set it up.

If LightBurn still does not connect to the machine you may need to install a device driver to allow your computer to communicate with the laser. You can download and install the CH340 driver from here: https://www.wch-ic.com/download/file?id=65 for a Windows PC.

To expand on this, it is the same as loading any other Windows driver.
