I have two laser engravers, one has a networked Ruida controller and the other is a UsB GRBL device. Can I send a design to the Ruida based machine and while it is busy also start a design on the GRBL machine? Will both operations interfere with each other or should I use them in turn?
Yes. This should work with no issue. Normally you’d need to have two instances open to control two lasers but if your use case is literally only “start on Ruida and then move to GRBL device” then you wouldn’t even need to have two instances. Once your job is sent to the Ruida the Ruida handles the execution of the job offline. You could shutdown LightBurn at that point and it would continue to do its thing.
So you could start a job on Ruida, change device profile to GRBL device, and then start work there.
Perhaps run a test job with the LPS turned off to validate that it behaves as expected.
Cheers berainlb! I actually did not even think about running 2 instances, did not know that was possible. That would most certainly avoid any issues, so I think I will go that way!
