Converting to path

I have the newest version of Lightburn and need to convert text to a circle shape. I don’t see the blue dot that is referred to in videos to alter the shape. I have also tried to select the text and the circle, then try to convert to path, but that option isn’t available. The deform selection option seems very time consuming, when I just want a curved text. Thoughts??

The new Lightburn Docs explains it pretty well.

Thank you for sending the video, however when I ungroup the text and select the text and circle, the option to apply path to text is grayed out.

I think I figured out why. User error  I don’t suppose you can curve the path of an image, like a small logo…

That’s because it’s not text, it’s already a shape. If this is from a file you imported, the creator of the file probably converted it upon export (very common) or if you created the file In Lightburn you may have altered the text already, converting it to a shape.

No, but you can use the deform selection tool to attempt this.

Thanks for your reply. I actually watched your video before I even posted. It was very informative and very well presented… just a little too much for me at this time. Maybe in the future

If you want to align text to a logo (in this case, a coat of arms), you can use “offset shapes” → outside only → to generate a line to which you can align the text.

I’m not sure if that was your question, but here’s an example:

The link I posted is to the Lightburn Docs on the warp function, not a video.

Ooohh… that’s interesting, too. Actually I was wanting to put an image of my logo (very small) along with my business name along the edge of ornaments

I thought you had a video about using the deform function. Maybe not. Sorry about the confusion.
