when connected to lightburn I have full control to jog both X and Y axis. when running through a program, the machine will run but the laser will not activate. this has been tried at multiple speeds and power settings. when hitting the fire button under the move window, the laser will return a “busy” requiring a full shutdown to reboot.
I should note, I had to manually create my machine profile.
I have used the laser before on other software with no issues.

edit: the controller board is Marlin 1.1.6
edit: can no longer connect, I manually created a new machine using GRBL, i can control the X and Y axis but do not have control of the laser function. console window still identifies the board as Marlin 1.1.6
