Creality Falcon 2 12w Enclosure

I was wondering something. Im getting a creality falcon 2 12 watt laser engraver. I was going to get an ortur but amazon REALLY REALLY Dropped the ball and sent me the wrong laser with an open box. So i sent it back. Long story short my business partner noticed a couple days later as i was waiting on my refund that amazon had a lightning deal on the creality falcon 2 12 watt laser engraver with the rotary AND air assist for under 650 total with tax and free shipping. It was only 200 and some odd more than just the 10w ortur we had tried to order. So we got that. Now as im waiting for it to come im looking at getting a honeycomb for it and was wondering if the enclosure would fit the honeycomb as well with the engraver. Says its 700x720. Im gonna get a 500x500 honeycomb. Im sure itll fit but was seeing if anyone has done it before

Typically, the honeycombs are described with their outside dimensions and the lasers are described with their working area. The Creality website lists the outside dimensions of the Falcon2 as 664x570x193. I would add a good 25mm to length and width to ensure enclosure fit. Height is a wildcard. Jacked way up with a rotary and big tumbler, you could easily see an additional 100mm.

Ya total wildcard but because it’s in a room where my kid goes into I want it to be safe and definitely kick the smoke smell out. I mean I can always crack a window but when it’s below 30 at night here In Wyoming…. Ya house gets cold quick. More of the laser I’m afraid of blinding him and others. He’s on.y 4 so he doesn’t quite understand how lasers are bad for the eyes

I would strongly suggest getting a good 4" inline blower, 4" dryer duct, some plywood or rigid foam, 1" square foam “gap filler”, and a duct damper. Build a real exhaust system like your dryer has, but use the plywood/rigid foam as a baffle to hold the duct/damper in a partially open window. Use the foam noodles to seal the rest of the gaps. Keep the cold outside as well as the smoke.

NW Ohio here. We don’t very often see -30F but 0 is quite common (except this year, I guess).

Simply opening a window is nowhere near sufficient.

Parenting is an individual thing and I won’t presume to tell you how to do it, but the idea of having a young child in the same living space as a laser scares the willys out of me.

ya thats why i keep him out of the room. Scares me to have him come in. Ya same here in wyoming we were just beaten to heck and back last winter and its very very mild this year. Good idea for the window though. Im wondering if i can find a the duct work for a portable ac which would be the same setup as well

I searched for this on Amazon “window duct kit, portable ac window seal kit” and ended up buying this https://www.amazon.com/Estoder-Conditioner-Universal-Adjustable-Horizontal/dp/B0BZ13SF7N. I’m using a 6" inline fan on my enclosure so you may need to search for something with smaller diameter ducting.

I never considered an ac kit. Sure, why not? Glue some rigid insulation to the baffles, add a damper and off you go. There are plenty of 6" blowers or you can use a reducer.
