Hi, I have been having issues connecting a Creality Falcon 2 to my Mac Mini M4. I managed to fix the issue with a USB 2.0 hub after reading about it on a different post. But as soon as my computer went to sleep I am unable to connect to it again. I have done multiple power cycles and restarts with no luck. Anybody had similar issues?
Same issues. My Creality Falcon 10W does not seem to want to play nicely with Lightburn.
If you are connected to a laser, going to sleep is not a good idea for either the computer or you. The only way I know to recover reliably, at least with Windows, is to power everything off and start over.
These are communications issues and Lightburn is not the culprit. It is Windows, which tells Lightburn the COM port is available for use. In order of probable solutions:
- Replace the USB cable with a good shielded one that has one or more ferrite suppressors on it.
- Limit the USB cable length to 10 feet or less.
- Make sure the laser power supply is not dropping voltage when using high power and speeds in your jobs.
- Eliminate any nearby sources of electrical noise.
- Make sure the power to the laser power module is not dropping due to a heavy load on the same circuit.
Lightburn uses the COM port, it does not control it.
