Cropping the top of a circle

Hi everyone. I’m trying to cut off the top of a circle for a guide disc I’m making that needs a flat spot for clearance. Is there an easy way to do this? I figured the Boolean feature would do it, but all it does is delete the horizontal line. Does anyone have any insight? Thanks.

Draw a rectangle over the circle with the bottom side where you want the top of your cut circle to be. Select the Circle and rectangle and then click the Boolean Subtract button

Got it! I knew I had to be missing something, thank you.

Sorry to thread jack here, but my question is pretty similar. I want to be able to delete sections of this circle and sections of the rectagle to wind up with a rectangle that has a radius on the end, is there a way to do this?

The easier way would be to overlap them like this, then use weld, or union:
