Cut off on tokens

I make 2" tokens using version 1.7.08 and cutting goes well, The engraving always stops somewhere while engraving. The engraving is well within the circle, but will quit halfway through a word or skip a word entirely (see picture). It doesn’t matter what it says on the token it just stops. If I’m engraving something larger, say 4"X 5"+ it’s never an issue.

All help appreciated

Do you have overscan that goes outside the work area?

What are your speed settings?

What is your Line/fill/offset fill/image selection on the laser window?

Is this on the CO₂ or the Elecksmaker in your profile?

Does the machine stop completely or does only the laser turn off?

To get the best answer, please help us by attaching screenshots of your PREVIEW and your settings.

Show us what you want to achieve, and show us what you are getting out of the machine currently. And show us what your settings are.

Then we can start to solve the mystery. Otherwise, we are guessing at a million different things.

Sorry it’s on the C02. It acts as if it’s completed the job.

It’s on my C02. It acts like it’s done.

If the controller is connected to the PC with a USB cable, then “always stops somewhere while engraving” suggests a communication problem trashing the remainder of the job.

You can try upgrading the cable with a good-quality cable from a dependable source. Although ferrite cores may not solve the problem, they tend to be associated with better quality workmanship inside the cable.

However, if at all possible, connect to the controller through its Ethernet jack, as network communications tends to be much more reliable. The doc goes over the basics:

One possibility is that on larger jobs, the communication glitches chop out smaller pieces of the design with results that aren’t obvious and the rest of the job completes normally. Smaller jobs lose a proportionally larger chunk that’s painfully obvious.

Take a close look at those larger jobs for small defex you may not have noticed the first time around.
