Cut optimization is kind of bad?

Courvy font cut jumps arround a lot. It’s worse when it’s framed. Any optimization settings i tweak don’t change nothing at all. Am I doing something wrong?

This is framed courvy (brush script) mid work

It’s all over the place

This is unframed courvy:

It jumps arround within a word

This is unframed Arial and it does what I expect

Framed Arial again jumps all over.

What does the frame have to do with it if it gets etched last in anyway?
Lightburn 1.3.01 is set to Offset Fill.

These are my optimization settings:

But what ever I change here does not effect cut path at all?

I’d suggest using “Fill all shapes at once” in Cut settings for something like this.

That setting is selected.

Can you try opening this look at the cut path and then remove the frame and look at the cut path?

The issue is that you’re using offset fill. Suggest you use standard fill. If you want to use offset fill for the frame then put that on a different layer.

Sure, but what about this. No frame, brush font and the path jumps arround?

Can you upload the .lbrn file please?

I guess it’s because letters are connected. Still looks like far from optimal to me.

You’re still using offset fill where this type of motion would be expected.

As opposed to what? What I was saying is why does it not finish the letter it started. The courves closest to each other. It goes to beggining of the word then middle then end then back to beggining of the same word and several times like that.

Standard fill.

Optimal path for offset fill may not be obvious and frankly has limited utility in laser operations and will almost always result in worse quality.

Is there a reason why you’re focused on using it?
