The Horses are engrave, how do I make a cut line to link the red lines?
That is a job for the Boolean tools.
CTRL+B
Make a copy of the horses, set it aside
Weld the horses to the red lines so it keeps the out line - make it all on the red layer
Bring the extra copy of the horses back and put it in place as blue layer.
Ohh, ok. Thanks!
So, say I ran the job not realizing I needed a cut line there (Blonde Moment). I was hoping I could edit the project without turning off the laser, and the origin would be set already, and I just run the outline again and it would be fine, but no… The hour or so it took to add the cut line, the laser went to sleep or something and lost the origin or something. Is there a trick to align a missing piece into the partially completed job?
somehow I did it. I used my camera to align, played around with origins. Found the Laser Tools Print and Cut (whatever that is), and went through the alignment, and fenangled it perfectly. it only took like an hour of fiddling.
On second thought, it’s probably been aligned correctly ever since I aligned it with the camera. When I was framing, I was looking at the auto-focus plunger, and noticing it was cutting off the near side horse head. At the last moment I realized the laser is in front of the AF thing. doh! i’m blonde. I swear!
To be able to do that, your template must be prepared.
I will try to make an offset of the outermost contour, which must stand afterwards as an unbroken line/shape. It is then placed on the same layer as what is to be cut out and united with this by processing the necessary nodes.
Send a copy of your lbrn2 and I’ll show you how to solve the problem.
