I’ve searched for this answer but cant seem to find an answer.
Is there a way to change the default settings for Cut Settings? Particularly I’m looking to have my default different than what comes up in tabs.
I’ve tried using the highlighted button in the included image and it seems like it wants to give me the option to “make this the default for all layers on this device?”. But when I create a new layer it defaults back to tab size .0197, manual and so forth.
Is there a different way to make the change? I feel this should be the answer but seemingly not so.
Those come from the defaults for whatever layer they’re associated with in the palette along the bottom of the screen.
If you want those palette settings to be the defaults in new designs, you must tell LightBurn to do so:

However, storing specific settings in the Material Library gives them a useful name and provides an unlimited number of settings that don’t depend on your ability to remember or distinguish all the colors:
I generally use the black layer for engravings, the blue layer for text, and the red layer for cuts, with the settings pulled from the library for whatever material I’m using. Easy to see, easy to remember, and easy to change!
