Hi! I haven’t worked with acrylic before, but my niece is getting married in a couple of months and wants me to make name tags for the glasses. I’m using a Algolaser Delta 22w machine and just finished some test cuts. After a few attempts, I managed to cut through 3mm XT black acrylic at 600 mm/min and 100% power. Do you have any tips on how to make this easier or any suggestions for better parameters? And maybe some more tips?
I cut some 3mm red transparent acrylic with a 10w. I think I used multiple passes but I believe plastic cuts best in a single pass. I had a lot of fine filaments in the cut. If you have air assist, then there is not much more you can do. It is all trial and error from here.
The first tip would be to use GS instead of XT acrylic
It’s suited much better for laser handling. XT also works, but GS is usually better.
