Generally speaking we design to exact values for tool paths.
Once the design is created, we apply kerf to the pieces that you can adjust for more/less tight fit.
Generally we apply 1/2 the kerf to give us the exact edge, but you might have to modify the base for a different kerf.
It’s generally not a good idea to set the kerf in the actual drawing, as each material and batch are likely to be different.
