I was thinking of cutting out multiple circular pieces of Calico to put together for a polishing wheel. From what I understand Calico is a heavy duty cotton fabric and can be easily ignited.
Bad idea - or wet it first?
Cheers.

Do a test, I have experienced that the edge melts and becomes hard, it will not be good for a polishing wheel.
(Pure cotton will not melt, it will just burn)
Oh. I thought Calico WAS pure cotton. Thanks for the info. I’ll just buy the correct polishing wheel already made. It was just another one I my crackpot ideas. All good. Cheers
Old-school Denim should be 100% cotton. Heavy cotton coveralls are a fairly common safety requirement when welding.
There’s plenty of heavy stuff for a polishing wheel.
