Cutting problems

Hi everyone! At first, I would like to apologize for my broken English but I hope you understand me.

I have a 40W Laser Tree laser modul from China. It promises that it will cut through 5mm plywood by 1 pass, 150mm/min and 100% max power.

When I got it and connected it, it worked like promised. I was making a few tests and it was cutting through 5mm plywood by 150 speed by one pass. Then, for lack of time, I didn’t use it for a while and the next time I turn it on and wanted to cut, it suddenly didn’t warked like it should and didn’t cut anymore like it should. No even by cutting through 3mm plywood it must take a few passes to cut through and I can’t figure out what’s wrong.

Can someone, who knows what might be wrong, help me please?

Could it be possible that the first tests you did were with balsa plywood and now you are trying with birch plywood?
That will be a decisive difference.
If it is the same material, then you need to be sure that your focus is very precise and your lens is clean.
