CW5200 Chiller setting recommendations for warm environment

One more thing. Is there a better chiller than what I have? I have already looked and they all look the same. Anyone have a VEVOR one? I know these are like the lasers - there is a main manufacturer and companies just slap there name on them.

I’ve run my 5202 series chiller at over 100F and it seems to work.

Any refrigerated chiller should easily operate in 74/75F temperature range.

Having seen inside a number of them, they are much like the Chinese lasers and look alike. I doubt there is any real variance between them.

Get it from a company that gives you a warranty. Some companies will send you back to the original vendor.

If your products are not purchased from our official website https://www.cloudraylaser.com/, but purchased through Cloudray store on shopping platforms (Amazon, ebay, Aliexpress etc.), we will not be responsible for your order directly.

Good luck :smiley_cat:

It will work, but the manual has a chart showing performance curves for kw of heat removal potential vs water temp requirement and 3 lines for 20C, 30C, and 40C ambient. High ambient does somewhat reduce the max cooling it can do. But if your requirements are still within that performance curve the water temp delivery will be maintained. You wouldn’t notice anything, except perhaps that it’s not cycling off as much or as long.

All chillers have their limitations. The user manual or specifications plate should mention the range of temperatures in which it can work. But taking into account the origin and price of most of this equipment, I have some doubts that this information is available to the buyer.

In summer they lose capacity, depending on the operating conditions this can reach up to 40 to 50% loss of capacity if the protections do not intervene in the meantime.

Of course, those with variable capacity. But not at a low cost like these. They are very specific equipment, so they are harder to find.

All chillers should work up to 113ÂșF (45ÂșC) ambient temperature (depending on other factors but generally speaking) but in reality around 95ÂșF (35ÂșC) they start to reach their limit.
The rest is just that, if the thermal load is not too much for the chiller it can even work, otherwise the temperature of the liquid starts to rise.
Two identical devices connected to identical laser machines may behave differently if the operating conditions are not the same. This is assuming they are as they come from the factory.

Not sure if it was mentioned but have your looked at the radiators to see if there is anything limiting air flow through them? There can even be super small dust praticles blocking airflow so if you’re leanding to getting new one, take a chance and spray some SimplyGreen diluted cleaner on the fins, let set for a few minutes and then wash it out and see if that changes the effective temp range.

I mention this because I have had screens in my house such that airflow was nil through them but once I sprayed and wiped them down airflow greatly increased. They did not look blocked or dirty before cleaning.
