I am 99% sure I saw a feature that allowed the user to detect overlapping lines that could potentially destroy an entire job. For example, you mess up setting pieces in place and end up with something like this;
When you go to collect the pieces from the laser, you only find regret and loss.
Is /Was there such an option in Light Burn? Before LB I only used K40 Whisperer, and I am positively sure that software didn’t have that feature. Or am I losing my mind after breating the fumes from my laser for too long?
There is a remove overlapping lines feature in Optomization settings, but It will not address this. It is designed for when you have parallel lines against each other. It will not burn the same line twice.
Yours is a design issue that needs to be caught and addressed. Lightburn would have no way of determining if this is a desired result or mistake. Even then, which line would you have it automatically remove?
I agree it’s the designer duty to keep these things from hapenning. However, I don’t know why I believe I saw that “overlappig detection” somewhere.
“Even then, which line would you have it automatically remove?”
Now, if we think of how this could be implemented, I’d choose to have a warning rather than automatic line deletion. Something like “Overlapping detected at x:y coordinates”
Ok, now I understand your problem.
It’s a habit you get after a while when you work with LB that you control and find these unexpected construction challenges.
There are some good suggestions here that will hopefully help you.
