Does anyone know how to keep font size consistent? I am laser engraving dog tags for a project at work. The amount of information on each dog tag is different for each one, but I have been requested to keep the font size at the same size for each dog tag. Is there a way to consistently keep the font the same size, or would I have to split up each line of the dog tag into separate text box?
Once you pick a font size it should be the same for each line in the font box.
If your saying some information doesn’t fit on certain tags then the font size must be reduced
Typically it’s the other way around: folks want to compress the font size to fit TheLongestNameOfAll into the same space as JoJones.
If you’re not using a CSV file with one line (a.k.a. “record”) for each tag, you should: it will greatly simplify your process.
When you set up the tag layout, use one text box for each field (a.k.a. “column”) in the line. Unless you enable Squeeze
for the field, the font size will remain unchanged no matter how long the text might be: it is your responsibility to ensure the longest text will fit in whatever space is available.
Set up a fixture & template so you can do a whole bunch of tags at once.
Practice on cardboard (maybe even cardboard tags) until you’re certain you’ve wrestled the whole process into submission.
