Disable Rotary return to home / zero?

I’m attempting to use ‘repeat marking’ to batch pieces, but every time I restart the laser the the stepper backs up to the zero position, and this is very inconvenient / potentially dangerous.

Is there a way to disable that feature, so that when I click start it simply begins a new cycle from whatever location the stepper motor is currently located? For instance when doing sign work on a conveyor, there is no need to back up the conveyor when the next piece is placed, in fact reversing the conveyor creates a significant safety hazard. I’d like to simply click start and have it start the next job without ever backing up the conveyor if at all possible.

I’ve tried every combination of on / off with ‘home on start’ and ‘return to start position’ and linear / roatary, but those switches seem to have zero effect on the stepper behavior.

When you say restart, do you mean starting another batch or power on restart?
You would think disabling “Return to start position” on the external axis setup would do it. just like the rotary. On simple rotary work, does the “Return to start position” make any difference for you? I won’t be down by my linear table for a couple days I’ll check my setup then. Seems like last time with my rotary table the “Return to start position” disable did exactly that.

That’s what would make sense to me, but I can’t figure out what that switch does other sit there and look pretty in either position. Doesn’t matter if I’m in linear or rotating axis type either.

OK, Here is what happens on my 1.7.04 Ver
Repeat marking rotary or linear mode:
Home =off
Return to zero = off
Runs out series, stops. hit start again, runs out series, stops. Never returns to zero.
Home =on
Return to zero = off
Identical results. .
Home =off
Return to zero = on
Returns to zero after running series
I didn’t mess with the dynamic text. Curious to see if it reset or continued on depending on the Home setting. Not curious enough to mess with it now, getting late. Next time.

Rotary mode:
Return to zero = on
Returns to zero after running art
Return to zero = off
Does not return to zero until running art again or starting next project. Which makes sense, art is at a fixed position. That is where software wants to put it.
Workaround:
If you don’t want to return to zero on the standard rotary setup, .
Return to zero = off
Start
Rotary/ laser runs out art
Select “Set Zero”
Start
Rotary/ Laser starts at new zero, runs out art.

For purposes of testing, I placed bottom of art at centerline so rotary did not back up.
