Hi, i suddenly had an issue with all my projects for my laser…i was working in my laser when i couldnt find any of my projects, i tried to access them from explorer (win10), and everything was missing. Tried to reboot, and my machine went into recovery mode. When finished, it was still missing (all files is in a own built in HDD with its own parition) i tried restore to a earlier date, but that dont affect my partition with the files. I tried running virusscan, no result. I tried download filerecovery, but it finds only some some files…its logical to think its a problem with my machine, but since its ONLY lightburn-files missing, its logical for me to ask here if you have heared of similar problems? I have to exclude every possible solution.
This is really tragic, lost all my projects and all my purchaged files from etsy…
Lightburn runs normal (its installed on c, this is only pics and projectfiles)
Since the files you are missing were being used by Lightburn when you had the issue … I’d conclude otherwise…
If you machine goes into recovery mode, you have an os issue. Lightburn isn’t going to cause that.
Good luck
I also though the most logical was an OS proplem, but it was so strange its onli my lightburnprojects that was affected so i just wanted to hear with you…

More than likely the folder was being accessed when the problem happened which is why it appears to be only the lightburn folder that was affected, any other open folders at the time have more than likely been repaired by the windows recovery. probably your only chance is ti run a disk recovery program (as you have already tried file recovery) google should find you a free one to see if it works.
I had similar problem with Windows 10 and 11. I found that when I tried to remove OneDrive from Windows the problem began. OneDrive adds the onedrive name into the file path when saving files and stores it in a ‘onedrive’ folder that I could not gain access to. It took an online software expert to solve my problem. That was how I was able to get my files back. Hope this helps.
