Distortion with DXF import to Lightburn

I’ve been successfully importing and cutting DXF files for a couple of weeks. Yesterday I noticed a couple of lines were misplaced in a DXF file that i corrected manually in Lightburn. Today I open a different file and it was much more distorted.

Here is a jpg with the file as it should be in AutoCAD and how it appears in Lightburn

This is the DXF file I am trying to cut.

Your DXF file didn’t attach. I think DXF is one of the allowed formats for attaching but if not you’ll need to append a ‘.txt’ to the file name (e.g. ‘my file.dxf.txt’). The other reason it might not have attached is you didn’t give it enough time to upload before you clicked the ‘Post’ button.

Hi Marcus,

Yes, it was too big. I’ve made a new one and it is much smaller… and that seems to be the problem. A very small cad drawing 2" by 2" was over 6MB.

I made a fresh copy with only the area I wanted to cut and it was only 248KB. So I think after many, many iterations of the file it grew too large with some kind of meta data that it was causing errors. The new, fresh, small file shows up fine in Lighburn.

I’ll attach the new one, but as I say, it works fine.

Thanks!

Frank

I’m pleased you managed to get it sorted.
