Is there any way to make text from dots automatically? I don’t want to cut whole letters in paper, just make holes. I would like to be able to apply it to other shapes.
Automatically? No. There are a couple ways you could do it though:

One would be to use the Boolean tools to intersect the letters and the dots, keeping the overlap.

Another would be to use Edit > “Select contained shapes” to select all the dots within a letter outline and move them to a new layer.

A third would be to use a program like Halftoner (https://jasondorie.com/page_cnc.html) to convert an image of the text to a DXF of the dots.
