I upgraded from a 5w Atomstack to a 20w Enjoywood laser (E20 model to be specific) and to my knowledge the only settings I changed was the working area numbers for the new laser. Now my fine lines in a word is actually double burning? This is a diode laser and the only focusing is simply how far off the wood you set the laser. What do I need to look at? Thanks
It looks like there may be more at play, but…
You definitely doubled your mass in X and probably doubled you beam size, so it would worthwhile to check/adjust your new ideal interval (it looks too close as-is. It’s lkely something near 0.1mm now) and also keep an eye on your acceleration values.
So run a line interval test first and if that is not the problem do the offset adjustment? It is still currently at .100 and according to specs the laser beam is between .08 to .1 if that tells you anything. Thanks
THis is 99% sure a X belt loose
Try this - open the layer and disable bi directional engraving
IF problem goes away, you have a mechanical issue on your X axis
Loose belts
Loose sprocket, something alike
notice too the ghosting is very equal, a tooth or half a tooth wide consistent
Thank you for the help, it will be this evening after work before I can try all this. I will get back with results. Thank you!
User manual was a joke but I figured it out. It was indeed a really loose belt. Tightened it up and re-ran the test piece. All Good! Thank you for the help.
Good call, Gil. Thanks!
I completely overlooked mechanical because the letter forms were good. Me ↔ Amateur
