Sometimes I only want to draw a straight line - that doesn’t pivot from the starting point. Just a simple straight line. At times I’m successful and other times I’m not despite the combination of the same keys (Sft or Ctrl) that I used to have success I did before. Most frustrating is that sometimes it will draw my line with an opposing blue line that pivots at the starting point. I’ve learned this is this in part is to show how the line will curve with the distance and pivot being important. I can’t seem to recreate the process when I need it - seems like it’s mostly luck when it happens but I know that’s not true. Wanted to include a screen shot but wasn’t able to do so. Thanks.
- Select “Draw Lines” tool
- Move mouse pointer to starting position of line
- Click once (do not hold down)
- Move mouse pointer to end position of line
- Click once
- Press escape to end drawing or continue to next line segment

Got it. That’s what I was doing was holding down the mouse key. Thanks.
