I’m looking for a solution to a problem I am facing in Lightburn.
As can be seen in the photos of the wooden workpiece, I am getting engraving duplication in the lettering and images, even though this is not duplicated in the software, nor are the Lightburn settings calling for an offset fill. It appears the laser is firing twice as it passes over the work piece. The duplication in the image can be seen in the wiring of the mast support in the image, where two wires are being engraved, but as can be seen in the Lightburn design, only one set of wires is supporting the mast.
That is almost always due to backlash (play/slop) in your laser. Turn off bidirectional fill in the cut settings editor and see if the problem goes away. If so, it’s due to backlash. This link will help you find the problem.
