DXF Import issues with open shapes

I have run out of ideas i have been trying to import the attached DXF file but ligtburn seems unable to bring the file in properly as it always has open contours. Can someone else try the file and let me know if im crazy?

Part6.DXF (2.3 MB)

Here you go.

First step was to select open paths and auto join.
Second step was to delete the duplicates.
Third step was to remove a rogue line in one of the center shapes and join.
–It was weird. There were more duplicates I needed to use node edit and move one of the lines out of the way and delete it.

If the file formant is not .lbrn2, you need to import the file rather than open directly.

Detect and delete duplicates (818 found)

This screen cap shows that the shapes are not connected… so fill operation will not complete.

Got it! Select the objects and open EDIT menu, click on close path

Reassembled

I was able to open it and frame it with no errors, the framing looked good but after i lasered it then didnt match the framing ever seen that?

You still have shapes that need to be closed and/or duplicates
pigtool.lbrn2 (315.2 KB)

Try this file - it should produce what I have shown in my post above.

Fixed it. There was another duplicate line that auto delete didn’t remove

Check out the one I posted. It took a bit of work. Should be close to what you want.

You still have an open shape at the top of his mouth

@JimNM @micrololin I usually do Break Apart, Delete Duplicates, Auto-join and Close Path.

.
After Auto-Join:

.
After Close-Path:

.
With an Offset Shapes to invert:

,
For simpler shapes we can use the Trim Shapes Tool to get a Pure shape. The segments highlighted Red (not) show issues on the shape.

This worked well for the duplicate lines. It still left me with 30 or so open shapes without the use of offset. A quick show me and click start from showed where they were broken at.
