Engrave red lines

Sorry just trying to learn the software.
I am trying to engrave the red lines but when I try to preview the software tells me that there are 21 open lines and will be deleted (these are the red lines).
I tried fill and fill+line but get the same warning.
what am I missing?

You can’t “Fill” a line - just set it to “Line”.

Fill mode is used like paint to fill an enclosed shape, so it needs proper borders. Line mode just traces the lines you give it with the laser.
