Project was going fine for several test runs on several different materials. Worked out all the details and went to burn onto gold metallic coated card stock and it was white. Tried a different color card stock and still white. Tried it on plain white paper and nothing showed up. I tried the greyscale setting nothing changes. Just trying to figure out what setting i bumped so i can bump it back!
Different materials react differently to the laser and the settings for power speed and number of passes.
Do a material test
Rather than engrave an image, I would trace the image and make a vector object. No issues with dithering or grayscale
Likely that the color of your lasers beam is tricking you.
Something white, same color as your laser will be much more difficult to mark as most of the energy is reflected. There will likely be a difference between coated stock and colored stock coated.
