Hello guys I would like a clarification on how lightburn creates the engraving path. When I cut a closed figure with several passes, sometimes the path does not always follow the same direction but reaches part of the figure and goes back to then close the figure on the other side. This thing bothers me because the lines created by the laser do not overlap perfectly. While aware of the fact that this problem could come from my machine and not from the software, I would like to understand if it were possible to create an engraving path that always follows the same direction.
Thank you.
Most likely the shape you have created is not a single continuous line, but a few different lines that simply touch, or are close to touching.
For example, the shape on the right is a rectangle, but the shape on the left is actually just four disconnected lines - you can tell because I have only selected the top line:
When LightBurn runs a path with multiple passes, it will do all passes for each shape before moving on to the next one. The rectangle on the right would run the complete shape with each pass, but when doing the left one, each of the four lines would run multiple times before moving on to the next line.
