"error: 22 Feed rate has not yet been set or is undefined"

I am tired of getting “error: 22 Feed rate has not yet been set or is undefined”; even though I purchased a lMillMage icense, I guess I have to use a different program.
It seems to trigger when I am trying to set the Z. I can adjust it with my CNC’s control panel or with gSender without error, but when I try to adjust in MillMage I get the error. I can find no way to get around the error other than reinstall software.

I think that is set up in the Tool Library. Are you doing something to override it? Do you have Tool settings that would not compute?

Rarely a solution with Lightburn products.

I have used Lightburn for years, but and new at CNC machining and MillMage. I do have a feed rate set in tool setup @ 37.37in/m. I’ll try changing it and see if it makes a difference.

Mike, you are correct that uninstalling and reinstalling rarely fixes anything. I really like LB, but just cannot get the hang of MillMage. I guess I have a lot to learn.

have a look in the move tab and see if you have anything in your XY and Z speed boxes, i had it once in LB they were zero and i couldn’t do anything , haven’t experienced it in MM but worth a look,

can you put up a screenshots of the tool in tool library also

If I understand correctly, you’re getting the Err22 when performing a Z probe with the probing wizard?

Can you open up the probing dialogue, then select ‘Manage Probe Configuration’ and check that you have speeds set in the three boxes near the bottom?

I was getting Error 22 anytime I tried to jog the Z azis. I didn’t have to be probing.

It’s working okay now. I changed the Feed setting to 25 in/m and it works okay now. I’ll have to play around and see if the fractional value is causing the problem or maybe the setting of 37.37in/m was too high or something.

You may not have had a feedrate set in the UI for Z moves - it’s required for a Z move to have a feedrate. If you now have one set, you should be good to go - but it also shouldn’t default to no value. Please let us know if it happens again!
