Errors when using the rotator

  • When using the rotary tool, after framing to know where the engraving starts, when closing the window, it should return to 0. It says 0, but the rotary tool doesn’t actually return to 0. You have to press the button for it to return to 0, and the rotary tool effectively returns to 0 there (obligatorily, otherwise the engraving starts incorrectly).

  • The framing doesn’t take into account the division size.

I notice that, it is not just you. When framing from the rotary window, the position counter does not advance in the window, but it does in the software. Yes, you need to “Return to zero” even if it says zero. Funny thing though, if you close out and then re-open, the counter does show the offset, and can still be returned to zero. BUT, if you just start engraving without returning to zero, it does start in the current position. Really need to pay attention. To note, if you use the jog buttons, it returns to zero when you start engraving automatically. At least it did with 1.7
Secondly, you are correct framing shows large slices even if you have small ones. But if you think about it, do a ring with a division size of, say, 0.049 splits, framing would have to generate and show over 1400 slices. I was close to 20,000 slices with a machete on my XY table with the “Run Whole Objects”. enabled. Probably why it just shows several large ones.
This second thing can be a pain at times but understandable.
Be nice to get the first one fixed so I can get rid of all the post it notes hanging all over the screen and rotary that say “RETURN TO ZERO!!!”.

I think it is very important that you resolve this issue!!!

I think there is a bug report thread around here somewhere. Or just title it “Bug Report”: and put it in the software category.
