Estimated time worked great on old Mac. On new Mac - way off

I have been using LightBurn for years now, with a Dutch BRM Laser machine.
On my former iMac, the estimated time for a project was very close,
only a few seconds off, at the most.
The iMac died and on a iMac mini (Intel, almost the same specs as iMac),
same LB version, BRM laser, settings, library and so on, the estimated time
is way off.

Eg : For a small 3 cm x 3 cm engraving (fill) LB now gives 1,03 seconds.
Real time is : 3,07 seconds.

Before, on other Mac, LB gave 3.05 seconds. I know because I keep
records of every file I engrave/cut for calculating prices and so on.

Reading the machine settings does not change anything, and in fact,
I never read those on the other Mac.

Any possibility this has to do with the OS version of the Mac.
Old Mac : Big Sur
Newer Mac : Sequoia 15,3

Any help would be appreciated, the preview function was so handy
to give an estimate to the customer.

Check out this video to manually adjust the preview simulation setting.

HTH.

Thank you, but already tried this. And on the old computer, I never did
this but still nearly correct estimate job time.

Very weird, I know.

Do you still have access to the old computer? Perhaps bundles will solve your issue.

I once thought my time forecast had also gone wrong, it turned out I was using a different unit of measurement. I fixed it and let LB retrieve the information from my Ruida and everything was fine again.

Thanks, but the old iMac crashed… to the ground.
The screen was bend and seriously broken. With CMD T I could
retrieve data from the drive (although I have cloud backups) but
not run any software anymore. A bit of a shame, really.

@bernd.dk
what do you mean unit of measurement?

mm/sec in settings? - is OK.
mm in file settings - also OK.

And I had a backup of the settings for my laser and library. I always do.
IT-dude… I know, it is a disease… haha.

yes that’s it, it says inches but should have been metric. When set correctly I get very precise timing calculations.

Well no solution yet. I can read the settings of the RD controller, and the estimated time is still way of. For now I use 65 percent of the “world time” settings to get close to the real time of some small projects.
I probably will need to try with a larger file where a lot of engraving happens,
bitmaps and fills.
