Etching for so long

I have a ortur lm2 with an lu4-sf laser. To laser a 3D effect etching, it is taking me about 7 hours. This is on a 10x10 birch. settings are 270 dpi, 1000mm/sec, 90%, grayscale, with a 2.5% overscan, 1 pass. It comes out beautifully but, is the 6-7hours normal? I realize it varies with the complexity of the picture but I’ve done a couple so far and they are coming in about that time to complete. Thanks in advance

I have done 12x16" paintings with a 300dpi resolution on my 5.5w. If I remember correctly, that bad boy took 16 hours. It looks amazing though. It’s an Iron Maiden Album cover, and is on one of my earliest post.

Is your speed actually 1000mm/s?

This is from the Ortur laser page

0-10,000MM/Min is max speed… 10,000mm/M is 166.6mm/s…

I meant 1000. New to this

Thanks. I am new to laser. Good to know

Not the speed, it’s the ‘units’… mm/M, mm/S, in/M or in/S…

Can’t mix metric numbers into a imperial system without a conversion…

That’s ok, we’ll be easy on you…

Good luck…
