Evaluating Interval test

Good morning all! I am trying to perfect my settings and running lots of tests. The question I have, as the title suggests is how you evaluate the results of your interval test. My method as of right now is just to use a simple magnifying glass to find the one where you can no longer see lines between the burns(it doesn’t appear to look stripey). I am interested in how others might judge this test.

Totally dependent on material. If you can make a very ‘small’ dot in something like acrylic, slate will ‘explode’ where the lasers hits it. You won’t be able to make a ‘small dot’ damage area.

The results are the interval or lpi/dpi will have to be lower.

It sounds like you are going down the right path. A magnifying glass is probably one of the best and lowest costs. I have a ‘microscope’ that plugs into the USB and I can see it much more clearly.

Since you have a K40, you’ve probably ran across some of Russ Sadler items. Here is his ‘dot’ test.

They are 0.1mm dot patterns.

dotSize.lbrn2 (4.9 KB)

This is a very small pattern that you can use to test materials. When you load it into Lightburn use the ‘zoom frame to selection’ zoom-to-selection or you won’t see it…

Good luck…
