seems the further away the laser head is from the laser tube (x axis and y axis) the engraved image is faded, or not there at all.

Have you checked to see that your table is perfectly leveled?

Beam alignment In all four corners, table plumb to the gantry (rather than level), and lens holder being plumb and true. One or A combination of more than one of these is your problem.
Dirty mirrors/lens can cause this also…
