falcon 2 12w laser module board

hey guys! I was taking apart my laser module yesterday for cleaning and stupidly used pliers to remove the stands that hold the logic board and break the c20 capacitor shown in the picture.

I am able to solder a new one but I don’t know which kind of cap it is.

just by looks, it looked exactly like the C19 which is the one parallel close to it.

any help? pleaseeee!

The large block between them looks like a crystal, so C19 and C20 are likely its load caps. If so, they are matched capacitors of a specific value and a random replacement cap won’t work.

Some background for an STM32 microcontroller and a back of the envelope calculation for an ESP32 give some clues.

If you can unsolder C19 and measure it accurately, then you’ll know the correct value.

Good luck …

Hi @ediazf
Do you still have the part that came off? If so, that may help identify it.

Otherwise, I’d suggest contacting Creality directly. Since this is a board-level component on the Falcon 2 laser module, they’re the most likely source for the correct part value or a replacement board.

I wouldn’t recommend guessing and soldering on a lookalike component just because it resembles C19 — small SMD parts can look identical while being completely different values.
