It’s not the software in this case, but the controller itself. I’m assuming that your machine doesn’t have limit or homing switches, which will mean that the origin is wherever the machine is when you power it up, until you give it a new one.
Setting the origin location in LightBurn is just telling it where the origin is on the controller, so they match.
Near the bottom of this post is a paragraph called ‘Homing and Workspace’ - read through at least that paragraph - it should help:
