"File send successful" AND "There was a problem sending data to the laser."

Hello! I am using a Macbook (Big Sur) connected via USB to my Orion Motor Tech Ruida controller.

When I hit “start,” “file send successful” is displayed on the lower part of the window, but there is no action on my machine. If I press “start” again in Lightburn, it says [There was a problem sending data to the laser. The machine may be busy or paused.]. I know it is communicating - in fact it locks my machine up and I have to turn it off and on again or reset it in order to take back manual control of it.

I have Lightburn updated to its latest version. What can I do? Thanks!

The best option is to not use USB to control a Ruida from a Mac, and use an Ethernet cable with the $30 adapter sold by Apple. It’s reliable and does not suffer the myriad of known driver conflicts between MacOS & Ruida.
