Can you take a png file and change it to a svg file? I have a logo that is in color and I want to change it to Black and white so I can ingrave it on a tumbler. Is there a way to do that? Anyone?
PNG is a raster output. You can import the .png into LB and use the TRACE command.
Right click to adjust image
Set to Threshold for best black and white, Grayscale can work if the color depths are compatible.
Play with the slider bars to get the best contrasts
Right click again, select TRACE
Play with the slider bars to get the best outline.
See how the cut window shows IMAGE? That is a raster.
Zoom in and you see this
Grayscale
Threshold
Now use the TRACE
Now zoom in - see the smooth lines? All the way to max zoom. That is SVG.
Images edited to provide better examples
Depending on the image, you may have some clean up to do on the image, that is where NODE EDIT comes into play.
You can also run multiple traces with different settings to get both the low end and the high end details.
