Files in LightBurn ONLY are now grouped

I’m running LightBurn 1.5.01 on a Windows 10 Pro computer. In windows, I have turned off file grouping.
On my computer, ONLY in LightBurn, are any file actions now grouped. I did a save as, all files are now grouped, open files, all files now grouped, etc. In device settings, the only slider selected is Enable scanning offset Adjustment. In LightBurn settings, I did not notice anything that seemed to indicate that it would show files grouped. I dislike my files grouped. As I stated that option is turned off on the computer. The only piece of software that shows the files grouped is LightBurn. I had 2 things change, LightBurn upgrade and now connected to a Thunder Bolt. I do not see how connecting to a new laser would cause LightBurn to act differently in this manner. If I am incorrect, please educate me.

When performing file actions, I see no option in LightBurn to turn on/off file grouping.

This is just an annoyance to me, personal preference. The software and laser are performing as expected.

If you select open there are only 2 file extensions Lightburn looks for, .lbrn & .lbrn2.
You can choose to search for all supported file types or you can opt to import.
I don’t understand your problem, Are you wanting to ungroup by folder?

Although this solution is for Win 10, it may apply to your setup:

https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/all/completely-disable-file-grouping-always-everywhere/ac31a227-f585-4b0a-ab2e-a557828eaec5

This may be another situation where Windows knows what you want to do and is helping you out.

Are you familiar with the grouping function inside of windows? Open File explorer and in the ribbon menu locate grouping. look at the possible settings then you should understand what I am referring.

Thank you for this information. I will look into it. I just find it odd that out of the blue this has begun happening and only in LightBurn.

If all your design files are in one place, then perhaps a long-forgotten finger fumble [*] did the deed in that one directory (or, perhaps, directory tree). Because you’re concentrating on LightBurn, that’s the obvious culprit, but correlation is not causation.

Or, as mentioned in that link, Stuff Happens™:

it has been reported many times, that Windows Updates cause grouping to return.

Maybe nobody did anything anywhere and it still happens.

[*] I hate it when my fingers fumble! :man_shrugging:
