Fill and Line Settings

What is the advantage/disadvantage of setting the line and fill settings differently vs setting them as the same?

This is a great question.

You can max out the speed settings when you’re engraving a line if it doesn’t stop and change direction often.

The Fill operation changes direction often and can induce lost motion errors (mechanical skipping and jumping) more readily. Flood-fill is even more likely to create lost motion problems and require slower travel speeds.

The Fastest line can make use of the highest power that produces the desired effect. Slower operations such as Fill and Flood fill require lower power for the same engraved effect.

You can set the engrave speed slow enough that it never skips under any condition (and scale your power from that one speed) but it will be slower than necessary for line-art.
