Fill settings / text being individually engraved

Hey all,

Running into what I believe may be a fill setting issue that I haven’t been able to resolve on my own.

I have engraved text that have been patterned across the material. I am trying to get this grouped text to engrave individually. I have tried all the fill settings but none of them seem to do what I am looking for.

The picture above shows “fill all shapes at once / fill groups together” selected, as you can see the engraving speed lines are in place of where a traverse would occur and this greatly slows the engraving down.

When I have “fill shapes individually / flood fill” selected (shown below) it gets me close to what I’m trying to achieve, however it breaks down into individual letters and does each letter by itself.

For example, I would like to engrave “TEXT123” all at once before it moves to the next engraving. However no matter which settings I try to mess with its either taking the long route, or its engraving “T”, “E”, “X”, “T”, “1”,“2”, “3” which I am trying to avoid since it looks like it would be causing a lot of unnecessary movement / wear.

I have also tried to group “TEXT123” together before patterning, converting it to path, etc all to no avail.

Does anyone have any input or ideas as to what I can do to resolve this?

Thanks!

De-group everything. If the texts are “normal”, editable texts, they are filled as a group when selecting “fill groups together”.

hey misken, I’ve tried to do what you mentioned (fill groups together selected) and it still seems to use the “engraving” speed during the traverses.

I’ve attached a .lbrn2 file for reference. Thanks for taking the time to chime in!

You need to ungroup everything. You have the text all grouped together with the outlines. This is after ungrouping, with no other changes.

You’re right. Case of the Mondays for me. Appreciate your help!

Take a look at Fast Whitespace Scan in the Device Settings window.

I thought this animal was a grbl only option? I didn’t think it’s there for the dsp types.
