Hi, I am trying to use a omtech 350 laser and a emblaser core laser in the same lightburn pro software. I have the omtech 350 seen by lightburn and is working correctly. When I try to find the emblaser core It does not show up in the list of recognised machines. Lightburn tries to find the core but the app terminates about half way across the progress bar. I tried installing one of the GRBL lasers but to no avail.Any ideas as to what laser will equal the emblaser, how to find if the usb port is working or if I need to install drivers that are out of date.
Hey @Novaman2
Is this an Emblaser CORE or an Emblaser 2?
Be sure to remove any connection to your OMTech machine before trying to find your Emblaser. The emblaser uses a custom GCode board (Lightcore controller).
Here is a guide from Emblaser
Thanks for a reply, I might be past the age of reason but when I try the method you suggest I cannot connect both the OMTECH 350 and the EMBLASER CORE on the recently purchased lightburn PRO software.
If I delete all references to ANY machine from Lightburn and deactivate the software I can install EMBLASER CORE on my old licence. I even paid to receive updates for the next year, and it works correctly..
NOW When I try to connect the OMCORE , I need to activate the Pro Version (Purchased direct from lightburn) to install the laser. To activate the PRO version of lightburn I input the correct licence key and I can get the software to see and install the OMTECH 350.
When I try to add the EMBLASER CORE the PRO licence key does NOT LET ME SEE THE EMBLASER CORE.
and following the advice from “How to manually create a lightburn device” does not reflect what is disp[layed on screen. SO NO device can be selected.
Am I correect in understanding that the pro version of LIGHTBURN will let me select either the OMTECH or the emblaser from the devices tab so that i can use the ONE computer to run both machines (but not at the same time)
At the moment I cant get this to happen and I ask for any further advice on this subjectThanks
True.
We can better help you if you screen shot what you are seeing. You can create the CORE device without being hooked to the laser. Once you connect the laser (ethernet, wifi, or USB), you shouls see some option to connect. I do not use etherner or wifi, but in USB or serial port, Windows should offer a COM port.
You are leaving out a lot of details, so being wordy is okay.
THANKS EVERYONE FOR TYYING TO HELP.
I am now at a complete mess so may I start again and explain what I am trying to do.
I have an Emblaser core (grbl) from darkly labs with a lightburn licence (current)
I recently purchased an OMTECH 350 (Ruida) and purchased from lightburn direct the PRO version so that I can run both the EBLASER and THE Omtech from the same computer
In the licenced PRO version of lightburn I can set up the OMTECH 350 and after connecting the cables to the computer It will perform as expected.
From advice on how to “CREATE A LIGHTBURN DEVICE” (courtesy of Domenic) I unplugged cables from the Omtech laser and tried to create a device called “emblaser core”
and the devices tab I select “Create manually”
As there is no EMBLASER models listed I try different GRBL machines and enter the appropriate data for the emblaser core. but none will communicate with the laser. The laser head is also down to the extreme limits of focus and I cannot get it to return to its upper position. So no luck with any of the GRBL lasers listed
For further info I tried a different approach that was to activate software using my Emblaser licence and I can get the Core to run as expected.
If i enter my licence for lightburn pro 1.7.08 I can only get the ruida (omtech 350) laser to work correctly and notthe EMBLASER.
I tried extending a trial licence and I can get both the OMTECH and the EMBLASER to work from the one computer. BUT the trial licence runs out in 15 days and I cant override the licence code so I can use the paid version of lightburn pro 1.7.08.
When i go through the create lightburn device I can see in the list the EMBLASER RANGE of lasers and after picking the “CORE” model I can complete the input of the data for that laser and on completion I can cycle between both lasers in the devices tab.
So now I am at a point as to where I can get to enter a licence code to overide the trial version but keep the devices that have be set up.
Hope this explains my dilema a bit more concise.
Thanks

Thanks to all of the members who tried to solve my dilemma. It turned out that bmy copy of lightburn pro need some tags applied to it for the Emblaser core. The lightburn support team sorted it out quickly and all is now working.
looking forward to hours of use.
