Flood Fill Issue – Re-engraving Completed Areas and Unwanted Areas Being Burned

Hello everyone,

I’m encountering an issue with LightBurn that I’ve never had before.
Normally, when I fill a shape, the preview looks perfectly fine. However, the job takes quite a long time to complete.
To speed things up, I usually enable the “Flood Fill” option in the settings.
Now, after activating “Flood Fill”, the preview no longer looks correct.

When I simulate the job (using the Preview window), I notice that already completed areas are being engraved again, and even parts that are supposed to stay unburned are now being lasered.
This behavior never occurred before.

Does anyone have an idea what could cause this?
It almost feels like Flood Fill is misinterpreting the shapes or paths somehow.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks in advance!!

Have you tweaked the grouping? Can you post the optimization settings window?

Here is the file

The settings are identical to the previous images, which all worked without any issues.
Only this one is causing problems.
The graphic was manually traced in LightBurn, and then I added an outline around it to create a negative.
This process has worked flawlessly 22 times before – only this one graphic is causing problems.

You have 3 layers.
FYI, you can just upload your file directly.

You have 2 layers in the file you uploaded.

Do not try Offset Fill on this item. It is too big and will take forever to compute the path.
Uncheck Flood Fill in the Advanced tab of the Cuts window. Preview will then look good. I also Grouped the two parts (layers) in the drawing. Image is Preview.

I was wrong, it is 3 layers. I discovered this when dragging layers off to the side.

For what it is worth, that top layer by itself looks really good to burn onto something.
